Breeders Futurity 2022: top reining sport, forum for breeders and great parties
These Non Pros go into the race for the Breeders Futurity Champion titles
Next Tuesday the first Go Rounds of the Breeders Futurity 2022 presented by DP Reining Horses will take place. And especially with the young horses it is hard to predict with which score a duo will leave the arena! Some horse-rider combinations have their debut at the Breeders Futurity 2022, others we already know from previous shows. High time to take a closer look at the starting list!
3yo Non Pro
Already among the three-year-olds there are some horses that have successfully made their show debut this year. For example MOBSTERS DARLING (HF MOBSTER x HQH PEP LITTLE KISS) with his rider Nike Lorenz. Ridden by the homebred mare, she was Reserve Champion 3yo Non Pro Level 1 at this year's Belgian Futurity and finished in the top 10 placings in all three other levels.
Austrian Futurity Champions also aim to win in Germany
Also named are two reigning Futurity Champions, namely the Austrian Reining Futurity Champions Level 2 and 1 Non Pro. The young Austrian Anna-Marie Zehetbauer took the Austrian Reining Futurity Champion Level 2 title in the three-year-old class at the ARHA Futurity in mid-August in the saddle of SAILIN GUN DEE (MR GUN DEE x FANCY MY SAIL). The duo was already among the top 10 in Level 4, 3 and 2 in the Go Round and came out on top with a 215 in the Final. Anna-Marie Zehetbauer will also present RUF N RESOLVE (NOT RUF AT ALL x LIVE TO SLIDE). She also placed with the three-year-old stallion in the Level 1 to 3 finals at the ARHA Futurity.
Reserve ARHA Futurity Champion Level 2 was Kim-Leonie Kiechle on IM A ICE ICE BABY (SG FROZEN ENTERPRIZE x SL PALLADIOLENA) with a 211. The two were third in the Level 3 and Level 2 Go Round. In the finals they also took the Futurity Champion title in Level 1 Non Pro in addition to the Reserve title.
Also competing in the Breeders Futurity 2022 presented by DP Reining Horses is ARHA Non Pro Level 1 third place finisher, Susanne Oczko with WHEELING SPOOK (UNDERCOVER SPOOK x WHEELING DOLL). Susanne and her "Spooky" led the go round at the ARHA Futurity Level 2 and 1.
Shawn Wagner, who narrowly missed the podium in Level 3 and 4 at the ARHA Futurity, will also compete at the Breeders Futurity. Ridden by SPARK N HOLLY (HOLLYS ELECTRICSPARK x OAKENDOKIE), he will compete in Level 2, 3 and 4 in the three-year-old division. He will be competing against Sasha Darmon with CHILLED QUEEN (SG FROZEN ENTERPRIZE x KEA CHEX), among others. The duo took the win in all four levels in the three-year-old division at the IRHA Prefuturity in mid-September with a score of 212.5.
4yo Non Pro
While the starting list for the three-year-olds already reads promisingly, the one for the four-year-olds also makes the reader look twice. Numerous successful duos from all over Europe will compete in the "Run For The Roses".
Two Breeders Futurity Champions 2021 want to defend their titles
Among others, Breeders Futurity Champion 2021 3yo Non Pro Level 4 Stephanie Blessing will be there. This time she will be competing with SPARK LITTLE DUN (SPARK N WHIZ x LENAS POCO DUNIT), with whom she won the Superstakes Reserve Champion Non Pro Level 4 title at the IRHA Derby this year. And her 2021 Champion horse, SHINERS DREAMER (SHINERS VOODOO DR x JESSIES LIL DREAMER), will also be competing again. This time under her sister, Patricia Künzli.
Also the Belgian, Emmalee Penha, Breeders Derby Champion 3yo Non Pro Level 2 and 3, will compete to defend her title. Ridden by DALMORE SELENE (WHIZKEY N DIAMONDS x PINE FINEST JEWEL), she took both titles last year and will again give the competition a hard time this year. She will also ride her second Final horse of 2021, LIGHTNING SPOOK (UNDERCOVER SPOOK x BMS TEXAS LIGHTNING), with whom she finished third in the Level 1 Final, into the East Bavarian arena again.
International Futurity Champions travel to Kreuth this weekend
Andreu Nogue Puig also has a former Futurity Champion under saddle this year, SIMPLE THE BEST 66 (INFERNO SIXTY SIX x ARC YELLOW N LIME). Together they became 2021 IRHA Futurity Champion Level 3 and 4 with an incredible score of 220.
Julietta Prinz also has a Futurity experienced horse under saddle, XTRA SHINE ANNA (SHINERS VOODOO DR x JD CONQUISTA ANNA). The four-year-old mare was 2021 ARHA Futurity Champion 3yo Level 4 Non Pro under Franziska Wallner with a score of 215.5.
Laura Hägler will also be there. With her SPOOK ON ICE (TRICKED OUT SPOOK x HOLLYWOODS ICE TEE) she became European Champion SPB Amateur Reining all Ages at the Euro Paint this year and won the bronze medal in the SPB Green Reining.
All European Futurity Champions will compete at the Breeders Futurity 2022
For the Breeders Futurity 2022 presented by DP Reining Horses numerous European Futurity participants and all Non Pro Champions from this year are named. Denise Kummer and her CHIC IS MY GUN (TINSELTOWNSMOKINGUN x LV ONE SMART LADY) are among them. In the saddle of the four-year-old mare she won the Level 1 Non Pro of the Euro Futurity. But also the Italian Manuel Bonzano with MISS MACHINE GUN (YANKEE GUN x SANDITCH ROOSTER 023), European Futurity Champion Non Pro Level 2 and Nadine Kamintzky with her FROZEN GAMBLER (SG FROZEN ENTERPRIZE x SURPRISE ME GAMBLE) will compete. Nadine Kamintzky became European Futurity Champion 4yo Non Pro Level 3 and 4 with her buckskin colored FROZEN GAMBLER this year. The successful duo also won the Italian Futurity 3yo Level 1 and 2 in 2021.
Two further reigning Futurity Champions complete the top-class international starting field: Lucie Lina Egenter with EYES OF WHIZ (ONE GUN x LUGA WHIZ) and Maximilian Koch with GONE WHIZ SPARKS (SPARK N WHIZ x PEPPYS ROSELENA). Lucie Lina Egenter already impressed at last year's Breeders Futurity and continued her winning ways this year with EYES OF WHIZ. After the Go Round Lead at the Euro Futurity, she managed her first joint victory in the saddle of her four-year-old gelding at the ARHA Futurity. She took the Futurity Champion title Level 1 and 2 with an outstanding score of 219 and was Reserve Champion in Level 3 and 4.
Maximilian Koch and GONE WHIZ SPARKS are probably the duo that won a Futurity in the recent past. In Belgium, they dominated the Non Pro scoring in the four-year-old division. They brought home the win in all four Non Pro levels with 217.5 points, defending their previous year's title in the Three-Year-Old Level 1.
These already successful horse-rider combinations, as well as the duos who will be making their first major appearance at the 2022 Breeders Futurity presented by DP Reining Horses, will make this year's Youngster Event a special spectacle.

The NRHA Germany Breeders Futurity 2022 presented by DP Reining Horses will take place Oct. 1-8. For the $250,000 event, 234 horse-rider combinations from all over Germany, neighboring countries and other European countries will travel to Kreuth in the Upper Palatinate. The renowned young horse tournament promises to be an event not only because of the numerous starters, but also the supporting program is promising.
Sporting Reining Highlights
37 horses are entered in the Non Pro class for the three-year-olds, 41 in the four-year-olds and 78 horse-rider combinations are entered in both Open classes. On Tuesday and Wednesday the heats will be held and next Friday and Saturday the spectacular finals will take place. Starting on Saturday, amateur and open riders from nine European countries will travel to the Upper Palatinate to compete with the best reining riders on the continent in the coming week and bring home the title of "Breeders Futurity Champion" as well as the handsome prize money.
NRHA Germany goes Oktoberfest
This year's Breeders Futurity presented by DP Reining Horses will be surrounded by an appealing supporting program. The highlight is certainly the NRHA Germany Oktoberfest, which will take place on Thursday. With pretzels, beer and Leberkäs' the finalists will receive their finalist jackets, made by NICE, and together we will toast to the upcoming finals! Participants and visitors are equally welcome to the Oktoberfest - especially in traditional costume! A big thank you goes to Tarik from Box2Go for sponsoring the beer and to Sabrina Adam for the Leberkäse.
In the context of the NRHA Germany Oktoberfest there will also be a finalist raffle. Each finalist will receive a raffle ticket along with their jacket, giving them the unique chance to win a photo shoot with Tom Hautmann, worth 250 Euros. At the end of the evening the lucky winner will be drawn.
Launch of the NRHA Germany GREAT SLIDE Collection
The NRHA Germany GREAT SLIDE collection will also be launched during the Breeders Futurity. In cooperation with NICE, the reining association has developed its first own clothing line, which will now be available for purchase for the first time. Special emphasis was placed on sustainability, wearing comfort, functionality and a fashionable design when developing the clothing. During the Breeders Futurity there will be a one-time introductory discount of 5%!
Breeders Point - Exchange and promotion
During the entire Breeders Futurity the Breeders Point will take place for the first time. During this event breeders and stallion owners can present and promote their breeding programs, offspring and stallions. Interested parties can use this opportunity and exchange information with breeders. There will also be information and nomination opportunities with the NRHA Germany breeding support programs FNP and SSP.

As usual, the cocktails were named after stallions this year, because the Ranch Bar is not only about delicious drinks, but also about stallion promotion.
